Windows 11 is projected to launch in a few days as one of the biggest software releases of the year, but as it turns out, not everybody is aware a new operating system is coming.

Not really Windows users, that's, as a survey conducted by Savings reveals that just 38 percent of these already running Microsoft's operating-system are currently in the know concerning the upcoming launch.

"In fact, two in three users didn't know whether their computers had the necessary hardware to make the change , and 45 percent weren't sure if they would download the update if this begins rolling in early October," the study reads.

And when you think this really is bad news for Microsoft, just listen to this. Only 41 percent from the users claim they are thinking about downloading and installing Windows 11, even if their devices are eligible for the free upgrade. 14 % from the respondents said they wouldn't install the OS, while 45 percent are still unsure.

14 % of the users said they're looking forward to the prospects of running Android apps on Windows 11, while 13 percent of them claimed they like how the operating-system looks.

The system requirements confusion

Only 3 percent are interested in widgets, and merely 2 percent said that they like the brand new Microsoft Store.

"About 14 percent of Windows users said the ability to run Android apps using their computer was the feature they're most looking forward to. What this means is users won't have to switch between their phones and their PCs to understand more about social networking or play in-app games, and also the feel and look of the apps can be really similar across both devices. Additionally, this transformation could impact a large number of Americans: about 47 percent of U.S. smartphone users have Androids," laptop computer reads.

Many users continue to be unclear about the brand new hardware requirements, as no less than two in three people said they're unsure if their devices can run Windows 11.
